Three Priests Executed for Mutiny
At Bagumbayan, Three Filipino Catholic priests were executed infront of witnesses.
The priests were Mariano Gomez, Jose Apolonio Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora.
They were charged with sedition and treason, which was the cause of their execution. The three priests were leading the movement against abusive Spanish Friars and fighting for equal rights among priests. The priests method of execution was by garrote.
This should be a message to all Filipino revolutionaries who dare to oppose the Spanish government. Commander-general Camilo Garcia expressed his frustrations regarding this matter and has ordered a nationwide hunt for anymore filibuster. Anyone caught with signs of overthrowing the government shall be immediately executed.
