The Good Spaniards

     For the past years, the country of the Philippines has been colonized by the Spanish Colony, with one of its sole objective: Gold. Frankly, the Spaniards haven’t failed in promoting gold throughout the country. Here are some reasons how the Spaniards have boosted the Philippines’ economy:

 a.) Expanded market. They provided new and alternative                       products to buy and sell; from spices to native products                     and  such.

 b.) Shared advance and expertise knowledge. They provided                 new learnings for our fellow Filipinos in the fields of                       technology, science and the likes.

 c.)  New job opportunities. They’ve provided new jobs not                    only for the Spaniards but for the Filipinos as well.

     Being colonized is not the end of a country, just hope for the best and it may soon provide something positive not only for the country but to its citizens as well.

Three Priests Executed for Mutiny

     At Bagumbayan, Three Filipino Catholic priests were executed infront of witnesses.  The priests were Mariano Gomez, Jose Apolonio Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora.       They were charged with sedition and treason, which was the cause of their execution. The three priests were leading the movement against abusive Spanish Friars and fighting for equal rights among priests. The priests method of execution was by garrote.      This should be a message to all Filipino revolutionaries who dare to oppose the Spanish government. Commander-general Camilo Garcia expressed his frustrations regarding this matter and has ordered a nationwide hunt for anymore filibuster. Anyone caught with signs of overthrowing the government shall be immediately executed.

A Message to all Filipino Rebels.

     José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda, more known as Jose Rizal is a Filipino Nationalist and Polymath. He is also an Ophthalmologist and a writer of various anti-spanish books.       He was a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement which advocated political reforms for the colony under spain through his works.        He was executed for the crime of rebellion after the Philippine Revolution , which was inspired by his works Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, and other poems and essays.        Rizal was arrested on his way to Cuba via Spain, and was imprisoned in Barcelona. He was then sent back to Manila on the same day.      Rizal was killed, at 7am in Bagumbayan. At 6 am of the day before, Captain Rafael Dominguez read Jose Rizal’s Death sentence, declaring that he will be executed at 7am of the next day.
